Brand new Kneehigh
8 June 2010

Following a successful design pitch, I've been working on a rebrand for a theatre company based in Cornwall called Kneehigh.

They're launching a "jaw-dropping, spirit-lifting nomadic theatre space" called the Asylum this summer, along with a new website designed by Studio AB.

If you fancy a theatre experience to remember I'd get booking now!

Kicking it into touch
23 May 2010

I've recently been designing some marketing material with 110% Marketing for the 2010 Rugby Expo which takes place in London this November.

I'll try to put some of the work up in the Projects section in due course.

Puns intended

Sometimes you can't beat a good pun. When a friend sent me a link to the Top 50 Shop Puns I thought I've got to share it.

And I did say sometimes.

The daily drop cap
10 December 2009

Brooklyn typographer and illustrator Jessica Hische has a great blog called Daily Drop Cap where she posts a new hand-crafted decorative initial cap every day.

You're free to use them on your site or blog - just follow the instructions. Better still, it might inspire you to design your own.

Mmm, now which project needs a drop cap?

Lift up, light up
20 November 2009

I have recently been working on some packaging design for a client called Seatriever.

They produce innovative gadgets and to date have brought out a nifty little device called Waterbuoy (which was featured on BBC's Dragons Den) and a range of light-up party balloons called Illooms.

Take a look at the websites and you'll see the magic unfold.

I'll put the packaging work up when I've got a moment.

Keep Calm & Good Luck
19 November 2009

A good friend of mine, who is a secondary school teacher, needed some leaving cards to give to her pupils. I happily obliged, tried my luck and took a ride on the Keep Calm bandwagon.

The famous 'Keep Calm & Carry On' WWII poster design has spawned many a pastiche but it was Stuart Manley, a bookshop owner in Alnwick, who sparked it's revival.

Doing things by halves
13 October 2009

I recently completed my first ever half-marathon at the Eden Project in Cornwall. The weather was a bit dodgy but by mile 5 of 13 this wasn't really of concern. Clocked in at 1:54:53 so happy to break the 2 hour barrier but even happier to have been able to walk to the car after it.

Bath and Chester halves here I come and maybe even a full marathon one day. Maybe.
